Julie Wengert named MSSU Dean of Student Success and Support

Julie Wengert has accepted the position of Dean of Student Success and Support at Missouri Southern State University.

Wengert, who has worked at Missouri Southern for 15 years, previously served as Director of Academic Outreach.

The Dean of Student Success and Support is a senior-level administrative position in the Division of Student Affairs and is responsible for the administration, planning, supervision and financial management of Advising, Counseling, and Testing; New Student Orientation; First-Year Experience; Career Services; Student Success Center; and Disability Services.

The dean will coordinate university efforts to promote student success, retention and degree completion. Wengert will work with all administrative areas of the university to develop collaborative efforts to accomplish these goals for the various student populations at MSSU.

“I am very excited to serve Missouri Southern in this position,” she says. “We have a great team in place and I look forward to working with all of them for the continued success of our students.”

Wengert received her bachelor’s in early childhood education from Missouri Southern and her master’s in Athletics Administration from William Woods University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in leadership in higher education administration through Lindenwood University.

She began duties in her new position as of Dec. 1.
