JFD extinguishes house fire at 2425 S. Alabama

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2425 S. Alabama on Sunday February 12, 2017. The time of the call was 9:33 AM. 

The first crew arrived at 9:38 AM and found a single story wood frame residential structure with heavy smoke showing from the garage. 

Crews made entry into the garage and found heavy fire conditions. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the garage and attic above the garage. Crews checked for extension and were able to confine the fire to the garage area. Fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of arrival and completely extinguished by 10:00 AM.

There were no injuries to civilians of fire fighters.

The Fire Department responded with 6 apparatus and 17 personnel.

Crews were assisted by METS Ambulance Service and Joplin Police Department.

The fire was investigated by the Joplin Fire Marshal and determined to be electrical.
