Crowder College weekly update

Academics
·         Programs currently accepting application for Fall 2017 include:
·         The Nursing Programs in Neosho & Cassville will begin accepting application April 15 – August 15 for Spring 2018.

Athletics
·         The Roughrider Softball team is 19-4 on the season.  They play at home March 24-26. For a complete schedule go tohttp://crowderathletics.com/sports/sball/2016-17/schedule
·         The Roughrider Baseball team is now 20-8 on the season and ranked #12 in the NJCAA Division I poll (3-7-2017). They will play at home March 25, 1pm & 3pm. For a complete schedule go to: http://crowderathletics.com/sports/bsb/2016-17/schedule

Campus Events

o    MO S&T, Rolla, MO – April 7
·         Graduation and Transfer Fair at campus locations as follows:
o   Neosho: Tuesday, March 21: 10 AM—1 PM (Wright Center)
o    Webb City: Wednesday, March 22: 10 AM—1 PM (Hickey Bldg)
o    Cassville: Thursday, March 23: 10 AM—1 PM (Administration Bldg)
o    McDonald County: Tuesday, March 28: 10 AM—1 PM (Student Commons)
o    Nevada: Tuesday, April 11: 10 AM—1 PM (Room 217)
·         The Agriculture Division will host the 48th Annual Aggie Day Thursday, March 23. Over 2,000 area high school FFA students will be on campus participating in various agriculture competitions. Welcome area FFA members!
·         The Business Division will host its annual Business Contest Wednesday, March 29. Over 450 high school students have pre-registered to participate. ·         The Veterinary Technology program has Pets For Adoption. Dogs and cats are available for adoption near the end of the semester. Check out what we will have available: http://www.crowder.edu/academics/departments/agriculture/vet-tech/pet-adoption/
·         There will be a ribbon cutting showcasing the remodeling done at the Larry & Virginia Hickey Building on the Webb City campus, Tuesday, March 21, 10am.This event is open to the public.
·         We will hold a signing event at the Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center, Wednesday, March 22, at 10am at the Center, 420 S. Grand Ave, Joplin.
Community Events
·         The Friends of the Lee Library are currently taking donations of books for the Used Book Sale that will take place April 11-13, Wright Conference Center (Room C). If you have books you would like to donate please contact the Library at: 417.455.5610.
·         Crowder Community Choir is open to community member who love to sing. They are in need of bass singers, but welcome anyone. Rehearsal is on Mondays at 7pm in the Elsie Plaster Community Center. Spring performance will be early April. ·         The Longwell Museum is open M-F, 9am-6:30pm. The following exhibits are scheduled in the museum:
o    Neosho High School Art Exhibit: March 7-23, artist reception March 21, 4:30-6:30pm
o    Central Ozark Conference High School Art Exhibit: March 28 – April 7

Foundation
·         Crowder College Foundation Scholarships for 2017-18 applications available. Priority deadline is April 1.
·         Upcoming events include:
o    Tour de Cass, Friday, March 31 at Cassville Golf Club
