The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects following a rash of vehicle burglaries on Sunday and Monday nights in the Lowell / Rest-A-While areas.
Early Tuesday morning, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a truck matching the description given as a possible suspect vehicle. As the result of a roadside interview of the driver, identified as Blake Youngblood, 18, of Joplin Missouri, along with interviews from area residents, it was believed another suspect was still on foot.
Deputies searched and found the other suspect, 18 year-old Hunter Green of Galena, allegedly in the act of burglarizing another vehicle.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail.
While the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, Green is currently being held in lieu of $13,500.00 bond on allegations of Burglary of a Structure, 4 counts of Vehicle Burglary along with one count each of Felony and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property. Youngblood’s bond is currently set at $2,500.00 on allegations of Vehicle Burglary and Expired Vehicle Registration.
