On Saturday evening, March 18th, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office took part in a saturation detail. The focus of the detail is to have extra officers patrolling looking for traffic violations, which often leads to catching impaired drivers.
Over the course of the evening 31 cars were stopped. The following is the breakdown of the results for the evening:
3- DWI Alcohol arrests
1-speeding
2-other hazardous moving violations
1-uninsured motorist
2-drug arrests
2-warrant arrest
21 warnings given for moving violations
The purpose of the saturation detail is to keep the roadways safe for everyone operating on them.
