Highway Patrol announces results of Jasper County commercial, passenger vehicle enforcement operation

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) enforcement operations conducted on Interstate 44 in Jasper, Greene, and Lawrence counties on December 5-7, 2017. The enforcement areas were selected due to a history of criminal activity along the I-44 corridor as well as a high propensity for commercial vehicle violations.

During the operation on December 5 in Jasper County, troopers and a Missouri State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle officer stopped 34 commercial vehicles and 13 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 30 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver and one vehicle being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operations.

Speed Violations -- 2
Seat Belt Violation -- 1
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 2
Non-Moving Violation -- 1
Child Restraint Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 65 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

During the operation on December 6 in Greene County, troopers and a Missouri State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle officer stopped 43 commercial vehicles and 11 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 36 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in two drivers and four vehicles being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Seat Belt Violations -- 3
Insurance Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 75 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

During the operation on December 7 in Lawrence County, troopers and a Missouri State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle officer stopped 28 commercial vehicles and nine passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 23 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver and two vehicles being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Troopers also issued 36 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
