Joplin city offices to close for holidays, residential trash schedule altered

In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23.

This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center, MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services. The Recycling Center will reopen on Saturday, November 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Sunshine Lamp Trolley will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and MAPS will offer services from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. City Hall and other City services will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 26.



Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments) will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year. Joplin Regional Airport operations will also be running on Thursday and Friday.

Joplin citizens should note that residential trash and curbside recycling service for Thursday customers in the City of Joplin will be moved to Friday, and Friday’s customers will have trash service pick-up on Saturday, Nov. 24.
