Jasper County, Cherokee County sheriff's offices, Joplin, Galena police to sign mutual aid compact

(From the Jasper County Sheriff's Office)

A new memorandum of understanding between local law enforcement agencies will be signed into effect on Feb. 19th at 1:30 PM.

These law enforcement agencies are signifying their commitment to help each other in times of emergency.

An agreement similar to this has been in place for several years, however, newly passed legislation affords additional protections to agencies when working together cooperatively.

The new MOU will reflect those new changes.

On February 19th at 1:30 PM, Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves, Jasper County Sheriff Randee Kaiser, Joplin Police Chief Matt Stewart and Galena Police Chief Billy Charles will all be coming together to sign the newly constructed MOU at the Joplin Public Safety Training Center.
