Three injured including baby, in accident on ice-covered bridge on I-44 near Carthage

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident 9:10 a.m. today on westbound I-44, four miles south of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Dodge Durango driven by Crystal M. Shoffner, 42, Fort Leonard Wood, lost control on an ice-covered bridge and struck a guard rail.

Shoffner and two passengers, Alexis N. Morfin, 22, and Jordan N. Morfin, 0, both of Fort Leonard Wood, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage.
