Kindergarten vaccinations available at Joplin Health Department

(From the Joplin Health Department)

Now is the perfect time to get your “little eagle” prepared for school! The Joplin Health Department will immunize children who reside within Joplin city limits, or who attend Joplin schools.

The Health Department can also issue birth certificates for anyone born in Missouri. Cost is $15 per certificate. If children were born outside of Missouri, the department has forms for most other states as well, so the student (or guardian) can mail this paperwork and fee payment to obtain the birth certificate.

Walk-In Clinics for “Kindergarten Round-up” are set Wednesday, February 20 and Thursday, February 21. Times for the clinics are 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. each day. Appointments are encouraged and will decrease the wait time.

Student must bring a shot record to receive immunizations. If they don’t have one, it is recommended to contact their pediatrician to obtain one before they come to the Health Department’s clinic.

Parent/guardian must bring a picture ID. If someone other than the guardian is bringing the child, they must also bring a note, signed by the parent/guardian, giving us permission to treat without a parent present.

PLEASE CALL AHEAD AT 623-6122 TO DETERMINE WHICH OPTION WILL APPLY AND IF YOUR INSURANCE IS COVERED IN VAXCARE PROGRAM. APPOINTMENTS ARE APPRECIATED.
