...FLASH FLOOD WATCH POSTED...

.Excessive rain will be possible across portions of extreme
southeast Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks beginning this evening and
continuing through Thursday night.

Localized rainfall amounts of up to 6 inches can not be ruled
out. Most locations will receive amounts ranging from 1 to
4 inches.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING
THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri, including the
  following areas, in southeast Kansas, Bourbon, Cherokee, and
  Crawford. In Missouri, Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade,
  Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence,
  McDonald, Newton, Ozark, Polk, St. Clair, Stone, Taney,
  Vernon, Webster, and Wright.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Friday morning

* Thunderstorms containing high rainfall rates will create a
  risk for flash flooding over portions of extreme southeast
  Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks. Through Thursday night, most
  locations will receive anywhere from 1 to 4 inches. However,
  localized amounts of up to 6 inches will be possible.
  Thunderstorms will begin late tonight, and continue in
  intermittent fashion through Thursday night.

* Flooding of low water crossings and low lying roadways is
  likely through Thursday night. Rivers and creeks flooding is
  also possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
