According to the HIghway Patrol report, the trailer of a 2007 Ford F-150 driven by Sergio A. Nevarez Gutierrez, 17, Neosho, crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Cindy L. Cox, 39, Springfield.
Cargo from the trailer struck a 2012 Hyundai Sonata driven by Jason W. Randolph, 47, Nixa.
Dr. Clint Loy pronounced Cox dead 6:43 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
A passenger in the Cox vehicle, Richard V. Gustin, 88, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy.
The fatality was the 67th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
