A Neosho man was killed and a Florida man injured in a one-vehicle accident 2:10 a.m. today on Highway NN, three miles south of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1994 BMW 325 driven by Carter L. Hickman, 25, Neosho, failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert and caught fire.
Hickman was pronounced dead by Dr. Burn at the Mercy Burn Unit in Springfield at 12:03 p.m.
A passenger, Andru D. Jacobs, 24, St. Cloud, Florida, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
The fatality was the 127th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
No idea what the vehicle referenced as "1994 BMW 25" really is, but not a BMW 25 for sure.
