(From the Lamar Police Department)The Barton County Prosecutor's Office filed the criminal charge of Receiving Stolen Property Class D Felony, against Jarred Austin and Tasha Storandt today.
Austin is being held at the Barton County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond and Storandt is being held in the Cedar County Jail lieu of a $2,500 bond on this charge.
In all cases of arrest, charges are based on probable cause and all defendants are presumed innocent unless or proven guilty in a court.

This morning, 08/04/22, at or about 03:45am, Lamar Police Officer Skyler Hockett checked on an occupied vehicle on a closed lot in town. Two people were contacted with the vehicle; they were identified as Jarred P Austin, 40, of Lockwood, Mo, and Tasha F Storandt, 24, of Fenton, Mo.
The Lamar Police Department is actively seeking the location of Jarred P Austin. If you are aware of his location or have further information regarding this incident, please contact the Lamar Police Department at 417-682-3546.

After the initial contact, Austin fled on foot and has not been located. Further investigation found that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Springfield, Mo. Storandt had active warrants from Cedar and Vernon Counties. She was taken into custody.
