Noel man charged with felony DWI after rear-ending vehicle, leaving scene

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, Noel Deputy Marshals were dispatched to the area of Spring Valley Ct. in regards to a leave the scene accident. 

While responding, McDonald County 911 update responders that the caller was following the suspect vehicle and the vehicle had traveled onto Spring Valley Ct. and stopped.
 
Deputies arrived on scene and observed a subject that were able to identify as Joel Ukaw 56 of Noel.








During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Ukaw was operating a motor vehicle in a intoxicated condition while having his minor child in the car. It was learned that Ukaw struck a vehicle from behind and failed to stop after the accident.
 
No one was injured in the accident. Ukaw was taken to the hospital by law enforcement before being remanded to the McDonald County Detention Center.







 
On July 2, 2023, the McDonald County Prosecutors Office charged Ukaw with a felony charge of Driving while Intoxicated. His bond has been set at $50,000.00 surety. Additional charges may follow.
 
A charge is merely an accusation. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
