Joplin, Carl Junction residents injured in collision on 66

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 7:35 p.m. Friday on MO 66 one mile west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2011 Toyota Camry driven by Lee W. Williams, 83, Carl Junction, failed to yield to a 2021 Kenworth flatbed driven by Dustin M. Gilstrap, 40, Joplin, causing a collision.





Both vehicles traveled off the roadway with the Gilstrap vehicle overturning and coming to rest on its top.

Gilstrap, Williams and a passenger in the Williams vehicle, Harriet I. Williams, 80, Carl Junction, were treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
