On July 20th, 2023 1206hrs, Emergency personnel was dispatched to NW 175th Ln and NW 33rd in reference to a pedestrian versus train.
Upon arrival of first responders and Deputies it was determined that the accident occurred at NW 35th Rd and the train tracks.
At that location Emergency Personnel located a female lying on the ground with obvious injuries. EMS began lifesaving measures and a short time later the female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It was determined the female was from Kansas and had been currently living in Burgess, Mo. The investigation is currently being investigated by the Barton County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas City Southern Railway Police. Currently, we are still attempting to locate a next of kin.
