MoDOT TRAFIC ALERT: I-44 Nighttime Pavement Improvements RESCHEDULED to August 7-13
Where: I-44 lane closures between mile marker 5 and 6 west of Missouri Route 43/86 in Joplin
When: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Monday - Sunday, August 7-13
What: Contractor crews to add a high-friction pavement treatment at various locations to help improve traction at curves. Work was rescheduled from July 18-23, 2023.
This work is part of a project to add a high-friction pavement treatment to selected curves on various routes in Christian, Newton, Taney and Webster Counties. Several routes were completed in 2022. The prime contractor is Louis-Company of Grain Valley.
Traffic Impacts
I-44 lane closures between mile marker 5 and 6 west of Missouri Route 43/86 in Joplin
I-44 is OPEN
Drivers will encounter lane closures and flaggers directing traffic through the work zone where crews are working.
No signed detours, drivers are urged to find alternate routes
Signs and message boards will alert drivers to work zone
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
