Parsons woman charged with possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school

(From the Parsons Police Department)

On July 25, 2023, we released the information about the arrest of Trinity Dawn Pratt, 47, of Parsons. As a result of this investigation, Trinity Pratt was placed under arrest, and the Parsons Police Department submitted charges to the Labette County Attorney's Office.

The Labette County Attorney’s Office official charged Pratt with Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school (a Level 1 Drug Felony), Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug distribution paraphernalia (felony) and Possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor). Pratt appeared in Labette County District Court on July 26, 2023 and was given a $25,000 bond.

If you recall from the original press release, Pratt was given probation on March 20, 2023, as a part of a plea agreement in reference to a 2021 case for Possession with Intent to Distribute a controlled substance (a Level 2 Drug Felony). She has an underlying sentence of 104 months, according to court documents.

A motion to revoke Pratt’s probation in the 2021 case was filed on July 27, 2023. Pratt appeared for the revocation hearing on July 28, 2023. The Labette County Attorney’s Office requested that Pratt be given a $50,000 bond in the probation revocation, in addition to the new bond of $25,000 that was ordered on July 26th. This would have made Pratt’s total bond $75,000.

The County Attorney’s recommendation for bond was deemed to be excessive and the judge issued a $20,000 bond in the revocation, making Pratt's total bond $45,000 cash or bondsman.

Subsequently, Pratt posted bond and was released from the Labette County Jail on July 29, 2023. This convicted drug dealer spent less than a week in custody on a new charge of drug distribution, even with the 104 month (almost 8 and a 1/2 year) underlying sentence for the 2021 case looming in her future and having her probation revoked.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
