Joplin woman suffers serious injuries, cited for meth possession after crash south of Carthage

A Joplin woman was cited for felony possession of methamphetamine following a one-vehicle injury accident 3:47 a.m. today on Apple Road four and a half miles south of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Honda Ridgeline driven by Ashley D. Johnson, 35, Joplin, struck a utility pole, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a fence and a tree.








Johnson, who was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin, was also cited for not wearing a seat belt and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A passenger, Wesley D. Strickland, 34, Diamond, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy.
