The Joplin Police Department is proud to recognize our Police Officer Trainees that graduated from the 157th MSSU Law Enforcement Academy spring day class on Wednesday, May 8th.

They are Officer Zackery Burns, Officer Ethan Adel, Officer Alexander Hopper, Officer Jacob Hibbard, Officer Preston Larkin, and Officer Taylor Peterson.

Their graduation from Trainee to Police Officer was solidified this morning as they were sworn in and took their oath of office for the City of Joplin.

We also want to congratulate the following officers who received special recognition for their performance during the academy class:

High Academic Achievement: Taylor Peterson
High Firearms Proficiency: Zackery Burns
Top Recruit: Jacob Hibbard

These officers will now undergo in-house academy training at the Joplin Police Department, which will be followed by a four phase field training program.

Please join us as we congratulate these officers on their accomplishments and welcome them as members of the JPD family. We look forward to them successfully completing their training requirements and going out to serve the community as representatives of our agency.
