Our residents, along with residents in neighboring towns, have reported to us today they are receiving calls from people claiming to be the IRS or US Treasury.
Obviously, these people are after your personal information and will say whatever it takes to make you feel obligated to give such information.
We encourage residents that receive these scam phone calls to simply hang up the phone.
The US Treasury and IRS operate through the mail and won't solicit personal information on the phone.
