Officer of the Month
December 2016
On December 2, 2016, Officer Isaac Costley was dispatched to a theft from vehicle in-progress.
While enroute the suspect fled the scene. Upon arrival Officer Costley was able to obtain a description of the suspect and pass it on to other officers.
While checking the area Officer Costley spotted the male hiding behind an abandoned house. He was taken into custody and the victim of the theft from vehicle was able to positively identify the suspect as the male who had broken into his car.
During the course of the investigation the suspect divulged being part of a 1st Degree Burglary in the neighborhood earlier in the evening.
Officer Costley was able to recover all of the stolen property from the 1st Degree Burglary as well as other property belonging to at least three other known victims of thefts from vehicles.
Due to Officer Costley’s diligence and hard work he was able to catch a criminal, return property to the victims, and give the victims peace of mind knowing that the subject who had broken into their home and vehicles was in custody for his crimes.
Respectfully,
Matthew Stewart
Chief of Police
