Deputy shot, in stable condition, suspect arrested after standoff at Econo Lodge

KZRG is reporting that a standoff at the Econo Lodge on Range Line in Joplin has ended with the suspect in custody and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The announcement comes a couple of hours after Jasper County Deputy Nolan Murray was shot, as he and nine other members of the Ozark Drug Task Force were preparing to serve a warrant on a room at the motel.

Murray underwent surgery at Freeman West Hospital. Murray is in stable condition, according to a posting on the Jasper County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Members of the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team where attempting to serve a search warrant at the Econo Lodge on South Range Line when shots were fired from inside the room. A Jasper County Deputy was stuck by a bullet and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Joplin SWAT has been activated. Several area law enforcement agencies are currently on scene.
