Joplin Fire Department extinguishes fire at two-story building at 206 S. Connor

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 206 S Connor, on Sunday, 12 November, at 7:02 AM. The first crew arrived at 7:05 AM. 
On arrival fire personnel found a two-story residence with smoke showing from the attic vent. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, with damage largely confined to the attic area with some smoke in the house.  Crews remained on scene until 8:44 AM.
  • There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews. The building was occupied at the time, but everyone evacuated successfully. The American Red Cross was on scene to help with temporary housing.  The house is rented by Kimberly Schick.
  • The Fire Department responded with 5 apparatus and 13 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.
  • The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.
