Barton County resident faces criminal charges after being caught with drugs in sheriff's office parking lot

On November 30 2017, Deputy Zakk Yokley with the Barton County Sheriff’s Office was returning to the Sheriff’s office after investigating a unrelated call. 

As he approached the sheriff's office he observed a white male in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office next to one of the employee's vehicles. 

The deputy advised that the individual was acting very suspicious and whenever he made contact with the subject and ask him what was going on the male subject stated nothing and started walking away from the Sheriff’s Office. 

The deputy continued the investigation with the individual and identified this subject. 

During his contact with that individual Deputy Yokley conducted a search of his person for officer safety and located drugs and drug paraphernalia in his pocket. 

The suspect a 42 years of age male who resides in Barton County was arrested and taken inside the jail for processing. The reports will be sent to the Barton County prosecuting attorney for consideration in filing a formal criminal charges.
