Liberal teen driver injured when car goes airborne, hits tree and lands in creek

A Liberal teen was injured in a one-vehicle crash 10:10 p.m. Friday on Northwest 80th Lane, six miles east of Liberal.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1991 Toyota Tacoma driven by Weston J. Wallace, 16, Liberal, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway, went airborne, struck a tree, overturned and landed in a creek.

Wallace was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
