Social Security scam reported in Oronogo

On Friday, May 25th, 2018, the Oronogo Police Department received reports of residents being contacted by phone number 413-461-7003. 

The caller would tell the local resident that they are from a social security number agency with the other reasons for the call being different for each person called. 

One person did give their personal information to a caller. In attempts to contact the phone number the phone call was rejected each time. 

Research on the phone number showed several entries dated today talking about how others have also been contacted by this number, any attempts to call the number back have been rejected, and the phone number has been linked to other scam attempts. 

Law Enforcement reminds citizens to never give out personal information over the phone.
