Resurfacing projects slated for next week in Neosho and between Seneca and Racine

(From MODOT)

Newton County Routes K & D Scheduled for
Resurfacing Beginning the Week of June 4

Newton County – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on Newton County Route K between Seneca and Racine and Newton County Route D in Neosho for resurfacing projects beginning the week of June 4, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Drivers should obey flaggers and wait for pilot cars to guide motorists through the work zones.

The project includes:
Resurfacing approximately 6.5 miles of Route K between Missouri Route 43 in Seneca and Missouri Route 86 at Racine
Resurfacing approximately two miles of Route D in Neosho from the intersection of Lyon Drive & Doniphan Drive to the Neosho city limits
Shoulders will be widened up to two feet, new guardrail and edge line rumble strips will be added on Routes K & D
Short sections of sidewalk along both routes will be upgraded to meet Americans with Disabilities requirements

Work will begin the week of June 4 on Route K. When that project is completed, contractor crews will move to Route D.

Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.

Project information
Prime contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Springfield
Total project cost: $893,000
