Driver arrested after admitting to Jasper police officer he had "a little bit of meth"

On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 at 1430 hours, a Jasper officer initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Mercer and 6th on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with a Kansas license.

Contact with the driver, Jeremiah Cartwright, and the front passenger, Troy D. Wools.

Signs of Cartwright being under the influence of drugs was observed by the officer.

When questioned, Cartwright admitted he had a meth pipe in the vehicle and a little bit of meth.



A search of the vehicle a black zip up pouch contained a plastic baggy with a white powder substance (later field tested for methamphetamine) and a glass pipe with a white powder residue.

Note: Cartwright is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
