Off-duty Joplin police officer spots wanted man, arrest made, meth confiscated

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Our officers take pride in doing their jobs, even when they aren't on the clock.

On Saturday evening one of our officers was off-duty and at the mall, and spotted a male that he knew was wanted.

He called dispatch and on-duty officers responded and contacted the male. The man was arrested for outstanding warrants from Joplin, Webb City, Carthage and Jasper County. He was also found to be in possession of 9 grams of meth in his pocket.

You never know where our officers may be, looking out for the community.
