The Small Business & Technology Development Center at Missouri Southern State University received several recognitions for the Fiscal Year 2018 by the University of Missouri Extension Business Development Program.
Lisa Robinson, director of Missouri Southern’s SBTDC, and Ken Surbrugg, a consultant for the program, were among the top five Missouri staff members recognized in the Highest Client Satisfaction category.
The Missouri Southern program was also recognized with the organization’s inaugural Green Block Award.
The state’s SBDC network assigns goals to each of its centers. The goals may be those designated by the Small Business Administration grant (capitalization, businesses, starts and long-term clients) or those that the network tracks (such as innovation grants/awards, jobs created, jobs retained, number of trainings, client counseling satisfaction and success stories/third party advocates).
For the Fiscal Year 2018 grant, the Missouri Southern program achieved 95 percent or greater in 20 of the network measurements.
The Extension’s Business Development Program includes the state’s Small Business Development Centers, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers and Mid-America Trade Adjustment Assistance Center.
