This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited tornado risk.
  Elevated hail risk.
  Elevated thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Gusty southerly winds will occur this afternoon into tonight.
Gusts up to around 30 mph will be possible at times. The strongest
winds will be across extreme southeastern Kansas and the western
Ozarks.

Thunderstorms will develop and start to spread into extreme
southeastern Kansas and western Missouri late this afternoon into
this evening. The thunderstorms will then track east across the
area into the overnight hours. The main risks will be large hail
up to two inches in diameter and damaging winds gusting to around
70 mph. Low level wind shear will increase this evening into the
overnight hours and will also support an isolated tornado risk.

Cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours will also occur
with the storms. Localized additional flooding will be possible
this evening and tonight, especially where storms track over areas
with already saturated grounds from the recent heavy rains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Showers and thunderstorms will likely be ongoing across a portion
of the area Wednesday morning. A few strong storms will be
possible.

Additional storms are expected to develop late Wednesday morning
into the evening hours. Strong to severe storms are once again
expected as instability increases. Large hail and damaging winds
gusts will be the main risks along with heavy rainfall and the
potential for additional flooding.

Additional chances for storms will return late Friday night and
into the weekend.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed later this evening across
extreme southeastern Kansas and western Missouri.
