Flash flood warning in effect for Barton County

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Barton County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 300 PM CDT.

* At 903 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.








* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

  Golden City...                    Liberal...
  Nashville...                      Mindenmines...
  Arcadia...                        Lamar Heights...
  Irwin...                          Burgess...
  Milford...                        Oakton...
  Iantha...                         Oskaloosa...
  Verdella...                       Kenoma...
  Hannon...                         Boston...

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route K at Dry Wood Creek east of Arcadia...
Highway 126 at The Spring River 3 miles north of Jasper...
Route C at Horse Creek east of Milford...
and Route M south of Highway 160.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
