Distinguished Alumni Award recipients to speak to MSSU students Friday

Three of the 2019 Homecoming honorees will speak to students on Friday, Oct. 4, at Missouri Southern State University.

Tresa Ryun Roth, ’87, who will accept the Distinguished Alum award on behalf of her late husband, Robert, will speak to students at 10 a.m. Friday in the Mills Anderson Justice Center Auditorium.

Robert Roth, a special agent with the FBI, was one of the first to respond after the Pentagon was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001.








He was later diagnosed with multiple melanoma as a result of exposure to the air in and around the Pentagon and died in 2008. Tresa has worked in Washington, D.C., to further the support for the survivors of 9/11.

Esdra Lamy, ’00, will speak to students in the Organizational Communications class at 10 a.m. Friday in Webster Hall Room 111. Lamy, one of this year’s Outstanding Alum recipients, is vice president for station sales at Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution in Los Angeles.

Dr. Brande Harris, ’95, also an Outstanding Alum recipient, will speak to students in the Human Dissection class and members of the Caduceus Club at 2 p.m. Friday in Reynolds Hall Room 232. Harris is an attending physician for the United States Air Force.
