South St. John's Boulevard to be closed from 32nd Street to Old 32nd Street beginning Monday

(From the City of Joplin)

Weather permitting, retaining wall installation work will close South St John’s Boulevard from 32nd Street to Old 32nd Street to through traffic.

The closure will be in effect Monday, September 30 through Monday, October 28. This closure is for work associated with the trail improvements in the area.

Businesses in the area will remain open and accessible during the closure.

Signage will be installed to identify the detour routes to use Jackson Street, 28th Street, Old 32nd Street, and Maiden Lane.

Work is being completed by Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking and is part of the St John’s Trail Improvements of the Transportation Alternatives Grant program of Missouri Department of Transportation. Funds from the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and the Parks and Stormwater Sales Tax are also part of this project.
