Program for parents on teen driving risks to be held at Joplin Public Library

(From the City of Joplin)

Missouri teens are dying in traffic crashes…but they don’t have to. First Impact can help!! First Impact is a traffic safety program that educates parents about Missouri’s Graduated Driver License (GDL) law.

The goal of First Impact is to reduce the number of motor vehicle fatalities, injuries and crashes among teen drivers by increasing parental awareness and enforcement of Missouri’s Graduated Driver License law.

First Impact will help parents understand teen driving risks, enforcement & monitoring of GDL law, and serving as a positive role model.

First Impact will be at the Joplin Pubic Library, 1901 E. 20th St., on Thursday, October 17 with the parent presentation scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration is available at: eventbrite .

This program is supported by federal funds from MoDOT Highway Safety & Traffic Division For more information, contact Beth Snow, Teen Services Librarian at 417-623-7953, ext. 1027.
