According to the Highway Patrol report, an unknown driver failed to yield and struck the back of a 1989 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Michael J. Cook, 66, Carl Junction, causing the Cook vehicle to leave the roadway.
The other vehicle drove off.
Cook was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
