Teen, six-year-old killed, two injured in collision on 71

Two people were killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle collision 6:05 p.m. Wednesday on U. S. 71 at Pineville.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a southbound 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Amun A. Omer, 24, Noel, attempted to make a U-turn to travel north and was struck by a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Kelli K. Lovatt, 44, Goodman.

McDonald County Coroner B. J. Goodwin pronounced two passengers in the Omer vehicle, a six-year-old boy and Nimo A. Omer, 19, both of Noel, dead at the scene at 6:41 p.m.







Lovatt was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

Omer was treated for moderate injuries at Northwest Regional Hospital, Bentonville, Arkansas.

The fatalities were the 98th and 99th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
