Manhunt continues for dangerous, possibly armed, Oklahoma escapee on the loose in Neosho area

Update: Walter Blount is in custody.

Information of Wanted Subject from Moore, Oklahoma

Earlier today, Newton County Deputies, Neosho Police Officers and Troopers with the MSHP pursued a subject who was suspected of using stolen credit cards in Neosho.

After a chase and crash of the suspect’s vehicle, which was stolen, the suspect fled on foot in the area of Business 60 and Highway 59 (Elwood Junction) in Newton County.

It was determined the suspect was an escapee from Moore, Oklahoma who was arrested and escaped custody a week ago.





Walter B. Blount, is a white male, 24 years of age, is 5’11” and approximately 161 pounds.

At this time he has not been located. He is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous.

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THIS SUBJECT SHOULD IMMEDIATELY CONTACT OUR DISPATCH CENTER.

Do not approach or attempt to apprehend.
