A Rogers, Arkansas, woman was killed in a one-car accident 5:25 p.m. Saturday on Route H, one-eighth of a mile west of Pineville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a westbound 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by Daxton S. Harrison, 21, Tuttle, Okla., dropped off the edge of the roadway, overcorrected and struck an embankment.
A passenger in the Harrison car, Heather M. Garrett, 20, Rogers, was pronounced dead at the scene by McDonald County Deputy Coroner Tracy Dowd.
Harrison was taken to Freeman West, Joplin, for treatment of minor injuries.
The fatality was the 19th for Highway Patrol Troop D.
I know these people. This was the second accident the boyfriend had gotten into with HER brand new car. Sad. And unfortunate.

DeleteJillian, My son Robert Mabry was very upset after witnessing the wreck, and I would like to look up her obituary but can't seem to find it. It said she was from rogers ar. Is that correct? So very sorry for this tragedy.

ReplyDeleteI was 1st person on the scene.....this guy was driving erratic LONG before the accident. I let the highway patrol know this and told them what I saw. SAD...very sad this idiot caused her death.
ReplyDeleteThe guy got charged with several felonies including 2nd degree murder....If you saw what I saw before the accident....you would be as gad as I am that he got the charges! Rest in peace Heather
