Four students injured in school bus accident near Jasper

Four Seymour students received minor injuries when their westbound bus went off the road and hit a culvert three and a half miles southwest of Jasper at 9:40 a.m. today.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the bus, driven by Toni Peterka, 52, Seymour, went off the right side of the road. When Ms. Peterka overcorrected, it went off the left side and struck a culvert.

Two students, Natalie Bowman, 10, and Angelina Sabillon, 8, were taken by ambulance to Freeman West, Joplin, with minor injuries.

Kaleb Crocker, 12, was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital, Carthage, and Karen Miller, age unknown, was taken by private vehicle to Cox South, Springfield.
