The Carl Junction Spring City Wide Sale is Saturday, April 26. The Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce hosts both a spring and a fall city wide sale each year. The annual city wide sales bring thousands of visitors to Carl Junction, resulting in record sales days for the local merchants, convenience stores and restaurants. The sales provide residents an opportunity to turn unwanted items into cash, while allowing shoppers the ability to shop for less than retail.
This year's Carl Junction Spring City Wide Sale features the annual plant sale by the Carl Junction Cultivators Garden Club. The local garden club members grow plants in their own garden, then transplant them to Memorial Park. Members are on hand to give expert advice on the plants.
Proceeds from the Cultivator's annual plant sale fund the year-around beautification projects of the club.; Past projects have included flower pots on Main street, and the Welcome Garden at 171 and Pennell. This sale will be the first one held under the new Jean Roy pavilion, which was recently built thanks to the efforts of the Cultivators, and local volunteers.
The Chamber utilizes social media to post special announcements throughout the day, where the Carl Junction Bulldog mascot can be seen. The mascot is chauffeured around town, handing out free goodie bags from Chamber businesses. The Chamber also prints and distributes 2,000 free maps of sale addresses. Maps are available at Chamber businesses, and are handed out by the Bulldog. The Bulldog makes appearances at residential sales and local businesses throughout the day.
