(From Southern News Service)

The recent Jeans Lecture in History and performance of “Carmina Burana” will air next week on KGCS-TV.
Recorded on April 9, the annual Jeans Lecture in History features historian Frederick Hoxie discussing his research and book, “This Indian Country: American Indian Activitists and the Place They Made.” It will air at 9 p.m. Sunday, April 27, and Monday, April 28.
The Southern Symphonic Chorus and Orchestra’s performance of composer Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” was recorded on April 13. It will air at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, and Tuesday, April 29.
“We’re happy to be able to record these programs from Missouri Southern to share with the community,” said Judy Stiles, general manager of KGCS-TV. “This allows people who were unable to attend the events to see the quality presentations being presented by the university.”
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems including Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
