Hampshire Pet Products evacuated due to first floor fire

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 7502 E 26th, Friday, April 25, 2014. The facility is known as Hampshire Pet Products. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 7:36 PM to find light smoke coming from the structure. Approximately 50 employees had evacuated the building. The fire was located on the first floor, in a flour bin. 

The fire was declared under control out at 8:43 PM. Crews remained on scene at the time of this writing.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. Five Joplin Fire units and 20 Joplin Fire personnel responded, as well as JPD and METS. Redings Mill FD and Duenweg FD were called to aid as well.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
