Air quality subject of upcoming Newsmakers program

Concerns about air quality in the Joplin region are discussed in the upcoming Newsmakers interview program, with Joplin Health Department Director Dan Pekarek. The interview focuses on efforts by the Four States Clean Air Alliance to develop an action plan regarding air quality. Concerns focus on the region potentially being out of compliance with ground level ozone regulations.

The program begins airing next week on KGCS at the following times:

Sunday, January 18 – 5:30 p.m.

Monday, January 19 – 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, January 20 – 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, January 21 – 5:30 p.m.

It may also be seen on the station YouTube site and can be accessed by clicking on the link at the end of this article.

The program will also air on KOAM-TV at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24.

Newsmakers is produced by KGCS-TV, a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems.
