JFD responds to house fire at 407 S. Gray

The Joplin Fire Department responded at 4:04 PM on Wednesday, 28 January, to a report of a structure fire at 407 S Gray, Joplin. 

Arriving on scene at 4:09 PM crews found light smoke showing from the attic of a one story wood framed home. Crews quickly extinguished the fire in the attic, declaring it under control at 4:14 PM. Crews remain on scene at this time.

The home suffered smoke damage throughout. It was occupied by Robert Schaffer, who called in the fire. It is owned by Kelly Todd who was not home at the time.

Five fire units and 14 firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene. The American Red Cross was called to assist the occupants.

The cause of the fire was ruled electrical in nature.
