A Joplin woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident 4:25 p.m. today on MO 171, one-tenth of a mile south of Carl Junction.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Mercury Cougar driven by Maria C. Figueroa-Gonzalez, 22, Joplin, was slowing to make a right turn. A 1974 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Daniel A. Workman, 33, Joplin, attempted to avoid a collision with a third vehicle by driving onto the shoulder and struck the Figueroa-Gonzalez vehicle as it was turning.
Figueroa-Gonzalez was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
