The Joplin Police Department announced a number of changes and promotions this week. From the KOAM report:
Matt Stewart has a new position as assistant chief. He'll oversea four police bureaus not just one.
Stewart says, "That's a total of approximately one hundred nine officers that would fall under that plus our jail and dispatch center.”
As Stewart becomes assistant chief, Captain Bob Higginbotham moves into his Stewart's old post in records and support services.
