A Carthage man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 9:59 a.m. today on Fairview Avenue, two miles west of Carthage.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1990 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Shane M. Kester, 34, Carthage, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver.
Kester was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:06 a.m. by Jasper County Coroner Rob Chappel.
The fatality was the 110th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
